All About Ray
Hello! I'm Ray. I'm a Senior Director of Design for the Experience Strategy & Operations team at Capital One these days, focusing on Experience Quality and advancing our design practice and associate experiences. It’s fun!
I also love dinosaurs, beer, and ukuleles.
The Background
I have an undergraduate degree from Loyola College in Maryland. It's in Computer Science, but my real passion is design and usability, which I went to Georgia Tech to pursue. I have a degree in Human Computer Interaction from the College of Computing there.
Since graduation, I worked for a couple of years at a small R&D firm called Language Computer Corporation doing interface design and information visualization research. I then moved on to doing IA work at Verizon. After about 10 years, some of which included the honor of leading the Intranet Design team I moved on to Capital One. That’s where I spend my days now in beautiful Northern Virginia.

Other Passions
In addition to usability and design, I play around with writing, photography, playing guitar and ukulele and making (not usually terrible) beer.
