My work over the past 10 years at Verizon has focused on designing and building great experiences for employees. Today, we call that the Digital Workplace, but when I started we were still calling it the Intranet. It's been a sincere pleasure helping to evolve that space, to what we have today. A sample of some of that work is presented here.

Delivering Smart, Connected Experiences
The employee journey is at the heart of everything I've done at Verizon. There are those that might think that working on "internal" applications isn't as complex as consumer facing, but I can tell you from experience that isn't the case. Verizon is home to 160,000 employees of vast diversity in terms of their jobs, demographics and personal needs. I believe, and my team is here to deliver, the kind of high-end, innovative solutions to those users that they would expect from best in class external facing solutions. What do we touch? Everything really from Real Estate, to employee collaboration and employee communications and HR. Here it is - at a very high level.
Driving Empathy & UX with Personas
Verizon Employees represent a complex and diverse community of users. Intranet authors and application owners need to be aware of the ranges and types of potential users who will be utilizing their content in order to ensure that all employees are being served in an equal and engaging manner.

Smart Cities: Personas & User Journeys
Another persona project from my team centers on Verizon’s work with Smart Cities. Through initial Design Thinking sessions, we came up with 6 initial personas for the Verizon Smart City and specced out an initial user journey for the smart application that would follow a user through different touch points with the user space.
Driving Design Consistency with VZBootstrap
It’s not always a luxury we have to run a full design and UX process with a development team that needs it, which is why we created VZBootstrap and its associated Sketch Pattern Library. Built on a core bootstrap platform, VZBootstrap provides a robust front end framework that lets any developer across Verizon build a consistent, easy to use, and accessible responsive site in minutes.
Alongside that, we have our Sketch pattern library. A resource for designers to get access to our UX patterns to build branded designs more quickly. Covering everything from iconography to form design, VZBootstrap has a community of 800 developers currently utilizing it at Verizon today.

Through the OneProfile project, we are driving towards a true consumer facing networking experience with expertise location and a one stop shop for your profile needs
